Acting Regional Secretary of South Kalimantan Province (Kalsel), H. Muhammad Syarifuddin, officially received and sent off two outstanding students from Kalsel who will serve as members of the National Flag-Raising Troop (Paskibraka) during the 80th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on August 17, 2025.
The two students are Dimas Budiman (16) from SMAN 4 Banjarbaru and Alvina Dhiya Kamila Faradisa (16) from SMAN 1 Rantau, Tapin.
They were selected as the region’s best youth through a rigorous and multi-stage selection process conducted by the Agency for Pancasila Ideology Education (BPIP).
During the meeting held in the Provincial Secretary’s office at the Governor’s Office in Banjarbaru on Friday (July 11, 2025), Syarifuddin expressed his deep appreciation and pride in the achievements of the two students.
Syarifuddin encouraged them to carry out their honorable duty of raising the duplicate of the national flag with spirit and full responsibility.
“This is a moment of pride not only for your families but also for all of South Kalimantan,” said Syarifuddin.
He also reminded both students to maintain their physical and mental well-being throughout the intensive training in Cibubur.
“The training will be physically demanding and tightly scheduled. Therefore, please take care of your health, maintain a balanced diet, and get enough rest so you can follow the program optimally,” he advised.
Dimas and Alvina are scheduled to depart for the National Youth and Sports Empowerment Center (PPPON) in Cibubur, Jakarta, on Monday (July 14, 2025) to undergo approximately 20 days of centralized training and education.
During the program, they will join 74 other selected students from across the country for intensive physical training, mental strengthening, and values-based national character building.
All 76 students from 38 provinces, officially appointed by BPIP as the 2025 National Paskibraka Candidates, will raise the duplicate of the national flag during the Independence Day ceremony on August 17, 2025, in front of the President and the people of Indonesia.
